Asthma is the chronic disease and the treatment is generally advised to take for long term. Treatment of asthma categorized into two types long term control and quick-relief medications. To control daily maintenance of persistence asthma a long term medications are taken and also to control airway inflammation. The former generally reduce the number of cells that are involves in inflammation and prevents the fluids into airway tissues. The corticosteroid medications are best for treatment of asthma. It can be administered either via inhalers or orally by pills or liquid form. The liquid forms of medications now come in new forms of anti-inflammatories named as leukotriene modifiers. These medications are intended for long-term use. Wheezing, coughing are the main symptoms of asthma and they can be controlled by inhalers or taking oral medications. There are also treatments for asthma available in ayurvedic and other types of stream such as homeopathy, etc.
Bronchodilators involve in the increase of diameter of air passages and thus enhancing the flow of gases in the lungs. Atrophine sulphate is highly effective bronchodilators. In case of persons whose symptoms cannot be controlled by medications, immunotherapy is one of the best treatments for asthma. Immunotherapy involves the treatment by injecting the allergens into the person and they are given at particular levels. Asthmatic medications respond differently in different persons, based on types and the combinations in which they occur. So the patients are advised to consider specialist before taking medications and treatment as they cause serious effect on individual.
