Before knowing about the inner ear infection let us know something about how the inner ears are made to function. The inner ear consists of labyrinth a tube like structure with canals and tube. This labyrinth functions in sending the signals to the brain in order to understand the sound that is received and figure out the directions. When there is infection in the inner ear, then it is this labyrinth gets infected immediately and majorly. The inner ear infection is scientifically known as labyrinthitis. The inner ear infection is most commonly caused by the viral or bacterial infection and the symptoms are almost similar. If the symptoms are not treated in the initial stage then it would lead to a serious stage of treatment. Some of the common symptoms of inner ear infection at the early stage are ringing in the ear, fever, neck pain, and joint pain, head ache, jumping vision, double vision, vomiting and photo phobia. If this is not taken care then it leads to the advanced stage and the symptoms include motion sickness, confusion, jumbling, temporary or permanent loss of hearing, forgetfulness, depression, slurred speech, intolerance to cold and heat, panic attacks in case some patient, fatigue, anxiety, and pain in the ear.
The remedies for inner ear infection include: consumption of vitamin C is suggested as it has the capability in improving the immune system. Put few drops of garlic oil in the ear as this acts as anti- microbial against the infection. Ginger and sesame oil is also very beneficial. Head stand is the other best remedy for inner ear infection and this will cure sinus problem and also Eustachian tubes problem.
The middle ear infection occurs mainly behind eardrum and in medical terms it is called as Otis media. This is the commonly found infection in children. In children the middle ear infection are found in three forms like acute Otis media which is a sudden, temporary inflammation, Recurrent acute Otis media- which comes back and chronic Otis media which leads to the accumulation of thick and sticky fluid in middle ear. The diagnosis for the middle ear infection begins with the medical history of the family followed by the symptoms. Then physical examination is done with the help of otoscope which is a light instrument. Apart from this the diagnosis also includes audiometer test. CT scan is also required in some serious cases to understand the spread of the infection and cure it. This inflammation of middle ear infection may also lead to brain abscess if left uncared.
