One of the most important parts of the body is the heart. As longs the heart beats, a person is live and the moment it stops, the person no longer is alive. The heart can be damaged in many ways. Today the heart disease is the leading cause of death in most counties around the world. There are various types of heart diseases that affect the heart and render it in less than perfect condition. These heart diseases can affect the life of a person in many ways. The heart diseases are a larger term and contain all the problems that affect the heart and the arteries or the blood vessels. A person at a time can have more than one type of heart diseases. But what ever the kind of heart diseases it affects the body as a whole as it is part of the circulatory system. There are various ways by which heart diseases can be classified. One main classification depends on the affect of the disease on the different section of the heart. The various parts of the heart include the four chambers (two ventricles and two atria), muscle, lining, an electrical system, valves, coronary arteries and veins. The type of heart disease is usually identified by which part is affected. More than 50 different types of heart diseases have been identified. Among the list of heart diseases the coronary heart disease is the most common one.
Some people are actually born with a heart disease. This is known as the congenital heart disease while many others in the list of heart diseases are acquired by the person in his life time. The first in the list of heart diseases is the coronary heart disease. The failure of the coronary circulation to supply sufficient circulation to cardiac muscle and adjacent tissue is known as coronary heart disease. Another type of heart disease that is equaled to this is the coronary artery disease, where the artery is affected. Congestive heart failure is another type of heart disease. One common disease that affects the chamber of the heart is the cor pulmonale, where you can have an enlarged right ventricle.
Another most common is the Cardiomyopathy where the actual heart muscles or the myocardium deteriorates and fails. The failure of the muscles to work properly could be due to any virus or bacteria infection. The pericardium- the outside lining and the endocardium- inside lining of the heart is affected due a type of heart disease. Among the list of heart diseases there are some that affects the electrical system of the heart. The various types of heart diseases affecting here include heart block, tachycardia, atrial flutter, long QT syndrome, ventricular fibrillation, etc. The narrowing of the valve to the heart, or the improper functioning are other types of heart disease that affects a large number of people. The list of heart diseases also contains the diseases located in the veins.
