Medications are a way out of the pain and difficulty caused to kids due to contagious and infectious diseases, but now even they are on the verge of being proved to be indirectly contributing to the harm induced to the health of smaller babies.

Dealing with diseases is going to be most difficult for children smaller than the age of 15 months to 2 years. Recent researches and studies have claimed paracetamol to be less of a treatment and more of an allergen to kids. Paracetamol syrups and other medications given to children suffering from cold and fevers can gradually lead to induction of asthma and other respiratory allergies in them. To simply say, children having consumed a good deal of paracetamol in their early ages are at higher risks of developing asthma and associated links of ailments.
By the age of 6 years children, who had been switched to paracetamol for relieving signs and symptoms of fever and common cold when they had been babies, were seen to be suffering from asthma. The clinical tests and medical prophecies declare this kind of an early onset of asthma in children to be a chronic and severe one. These children may, for a good percentage, also be affected with wheezing and anaphylactic issues.
However, the studies have given just the cross- sectional analysis of the relation between asthma and use of paracetamol. Cross- sectional analysis are often less reliable as compared to an exhaustive and cohort study, which has not yet begun in this context. The cause- effect relationship hasn’t been proved between the two. Like, if paracetamol had been given as a medicine for symptoms of asthma itself, then this theory loses its firmness. In babies, pain and fever can be relieved with the use of paracetamol, and this practice could be brought to use by the age of 3 – 5 months, and not before that. However, instructions of dosages need to be followed very precisely as it is the sensitive matter of baby health.
