According to researchers from the U.S., a daily habit of smoking and dependence on nicotine can elevate the risks of asthma. A recent study which was published in Journal of Health Psychology had discovered people who were already diagnosed with grave asthma were also found to be 1.26 times more prone to be a smoker.

As well as this, these people were 2 times likely to be dependents of nicotine. Not currently, but at some earlier point in their lives, people with smoking and nicotine additions were found to be dealing with asthma in later years.

The findings of the researchers claimed that the association between asthma and smoking was even stronger in comparison with the link between asthma and nicotine, according to the focusing done on dependence of asthma patients on nicotine in the past year.

Asthmatic individuals were approximately 3 times more prone to have been nicotine consumers in their past, than those who had no signs of asthma. The fact that supported this finding was the decrease in rates of asthma after the quitting action of nicotine dependence by some people.
